Assistant Vice President, Business Banking Recovery

Purpose:

• To manage designated Impaired Loans (IL) of the Group
• To maximize recoveries from the IL which is also to reduce the impaired loan outstanding and ratio
• To manage the Individual Recovery Officers Performance

  IL

  • To manage collections by following up on IL diligently.
  • To negotiate settlement with borrower/customer with a view to restructure/reschedule the impaired account and/or work out a settlement plan 
  • To recommend repayment proposals to the approving authorities for approval.
  • To undertake post mortems and highlight credit deficiencies and recommendation on way forward to address the issues.
  • To check and ensure accurate monthly submission of individual assessments under FRS 139.
  • To ensure timely CGC/SJPP claim submissions.
  • To approve with delegated approval authority and to support recommendations by Recovery Officers on repayment proposal for higher authority approval.
  • To maintain good relationship with internal and external parties such as BNM, solicitors, valuers, auctioneers and Receivers/Managers and Liquidators.

   

      Legal Action

  • To liaise with and instruct external solicitors on legal action to be taken for the recovery of monies where direct negotiations have not be successful. 

   

      Monitoring & Compliance

  • To ensure timely and accurate updating of progress reports to ensure all actions are current.
  • To ensure compliance with BNM guidelines, FSA and other related regulations.
