KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Legal Function

  1. Management and prompt commencement of legal action for delinquent account as per the legal strategy and turnaround time established.
  2. Analyze and review legal action progress, statistics and provide corrective measures where needed. 
  3. Monitoring compliance of lawyers and valuers on service level agreement, turnaround time and service quality.
  4. Ensure timely issuance of instruction to discontinue/ withholding legal action to lawyers
  5. Keeping abreast with the economic environment and assist in the formalizing of internal guidelines in line with the current situations
  6. Direct management of legal cases where there is a Counter Claim/Suit against the Bank.

 

Hire Purchase(HP) Repossession & Auction Functions

  1. Ensure the staff correctly advise customer on auction sales and post auction related matters and actual auction purchase price amount and deadline to pay
  2. Ensure the staff correctly advise customer on the repercussions of not completing the auction sales within agreed timeline
  3. Ensure timely issuance of instruction and attendance to all Hire purchase repossession and auction related correspondence
  4. Perform needful investigation work, where required for accounts resolution
  5. Analyze and review all related action progress, statistic and provide corrective measures where needed.
  6. Direct management of HP forfeiture by authority (if any) and/or counter claims/suit against the Bank.
  7. Ensure formalized empanelment processes for repossessors/auctioneers are followed thru.
  8. Keeping abreast with vehicle market development at all times.

 

Support Functions

  1. Ensure adherence to scale fees established, where applicable
  2. Ensure bills processing TAT are met and improving
  3. Ensure timely payment of Court, Land Office and Official Assignees fees/deposit
  4. Ensure zero “duplicity” of  outward charges/ bills payment
  5. Ensure system maintenance forms are correctly raised in respect to each legal situation attended
  6. Ensure satisfactory handling of complaints
  7. Ensure all amount placed in SCMO are promptly and accurately reversed out

 

Generic Functions

  1. Ensure operational “fallout” by staffs are counseled and escalated to HR, where established trigger has been breached
  2. Ensure customers’ complaints are placed on priority for closure
  3. Ensure business continuity of functions assigned by identify & grooming key successor(s)
  4. Ensure system maintenance forms are correctly raised in respect to each situation attended
  5. Delivery of any assignment(s) assigned from time to time
  6. Review service providers (lawyers, auctioneer, Repossessors etc) performance at all times
  7. Implement/improve work process within department/inter-department, as and when needs arise, with a view to reduce redundancy and improve efficiency.
  8. Active involve on system enhancement and guide through UAT to ensure the highest level of delivery accuracy and process requirement are fulfilled.

 

Audit & Compliance

  1. Ensure speedy closure of audit actionable, within given deadline
  2. Ensure agreed corrective measures are acted on and followed thru 
  3. Engage in Collections Process and Practice’ review by providing feedback and recommendation with the view to close operational gaps and minimize operational grey areas, if any
  4. Contribute to the Collections Manual, by actively participating in the updating of the same

 

Resource Management

  1. Review and manage assigned staff’s performance to ensure optimum productivity  at all times
  2. Coach and train assigned staffs for optimum performance delivery
  3. Ensure operational “fallout” are analyze and needful counseling performed
  4. Participate in staffs’ engagement program established from time to time
  5. Participate formally as a “Trainer” for any in-house collections training established
  6. Contribute formally to training materials, where necessary to enhance overall Legal knowledge base
  7. Ensure claims for Overtime, where applicable are justified
  8. Ensure Staff reimbursement claims are adequately justified

 

OTHER DUTIES

Adhoc reporting and other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.
