Assistant Vice President, Consumer Credit Policy & Portfolio Analytics

JOB PURPOSE:
- Review & validate of new credit policy for new Consumer product to ensure compliance to BNM guideline and internal bank’s risk appetite.
- Implement and make changes to credit systems accordingly to ensure all credit policy rules are automated and deployed timely and accurately.
- Oversee and monitoring of portfolio performance by conducting review and continuously improve credit analytics structure to ensure healthy portfolio is maintained within the bank’s risk appetite by proposing and implement relevant credit strategy.
- Perform in-depth portfolio study and analysis to evaluate portfolio health and identify potential portfolio risks and opportunities.
- Ensure credit decision are consistent, data-driven, and compliant, while supporting sustainable portfolio quality and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with risk, business, operations, and compliance teams to optimize credit policy or strategies, monitoring emerging risks, and recommend policy enhancements that balance growth with prudent risk management.
KEY RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Ensure timely review of various credit / product programs and monitor underwriting standards to establish credit assessment robustness is within the bank’s risk appetite.
- Ensure all credit policy changes are implemented and automated into credit system timely and accurately. Propose alternative when system automation is not possible.
- Deal with various stakeholders, i.e. Underwriters and Business Users before finalizing and implementing any policy changes to ensure clear communication and readiness from all party before any changes is implemented.
- Conduct portfolio analysis and screening exercise to effectively identify potential risk and opportunities in managing the portfolio.
- Close monitoring of portfolio caps and triggers of various products to ensure portfolio health is maintained and recommend appropriate action plan to enhance risk parameters if required.
- Manage ad-hoc tasks and support project initiatives as required, ensure timely delivery, effective coordination with stakeholders, and alignment with business objectives.
- Respond to all queries from BNM or external audit to ensure pass audit and compliance.
Skills:
• Good credit and analytical skills in Consumer Banking
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of analytics tools, SAS & SQL.
• Other Programming language like C++, C#, Java, Python, MATLAB, R, VBA is an added advantage.
Knowledge:
• Sound knowledge of products, operations, policies and finance practices.
• Tertiary education qualification in Statistic, Computer Science, IT, Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics or related discipline.
Experience:
• Preferably 5 years of related working experience & exposure in retail / business banking, analytics in the financial services sector.
