Review Assignment Objective
To consistently deliver assignments promptly while maintaining good work quality/standards.
Review Planning
1. To actively engage management/key staff to compile relevant information on the lines of businesses (LOB) under review such as overall operations, market segment, product types and applicable regulatory requirements.
2. To expedite sample selection according to the established sampling methodology.
Review Execution
To lead, collaborate, execute and document the credit reviews (Wholesale Credits) covering the following areas:
a. quality of credit risk assessment and rigour of credit approval processes, including in respect of the scope of information obtained for credit decisions;
b. whether credit decisions are in accordance with the credit risk strategy, credit risk policy, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements;
c. scope, effectiveness and timeliness of credit risk monitoring activities;
d. accuracy and timeliness of ratings assigned to counterparties; and
e. appropriateness of credit classifications and provisioning levels
Reporting
1. To lead discussions with stakeholders and management on any observations or concerns noted during the review.
2. To prepare issue write-ups, which are well positioned and articulated with value added/actionable recommendation, for stakeholders’ responses.
3. To evaluate stakeholders’ responses to ascertain that appropriate actions have/will be taken to address the shortcomings with target rectification/resolution date.
4. To draft review reports that are well articulated, factually precise and adhere to the established format.
5. To continuously track outstanding issues and to perform relevant validation prior to issue closure.
Other Activities
To support the Head of ICR or GCRO by participating in ad-hoc tasks and/or bankwide strategic initiatives.
