We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our Group Operational Risk department under Group Risk Management division as a Manager, Group Operational Risk.
The Role
A successful candidate in this position will be accountable to:
- Provide assurance, support and monitor the implementation of the Group's operational risk management framework, tools and methodologies as a means to reduce operational risk exposures and optimize capital charge.
- Consolidate and report operational risk exposure to management and Board to facilitate better informed decision making.
Job Description
Analytics and Reporting
Provide operational risk exposure analytics and reporting to enable supervisory oversight and to identify and highlight risk areas and actions taken to mitigate the risks:
- Review Loss Event Incidents and Key Risk Indicators and challenge Business Units (if necessary) to ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting to BNM.
- Review, assess and collate overall operational risk across ORM tools and identify areas of concerns and mitigations.
- Review and provide comments on regulatory papers (policy, concept papers, exposure drafts, survey, etc.) pertaining to operational risk.
- Collate, monitor and review Key Risk Indicators as well as Loss Events to identify key risk areas, trends and ensure appropriate, adequate and timely actions are taken.
- Collate and report risk exposures including fraud analytics via dashboard to senior management and regulators.
- Propose and enhance analysis and reporting of operational risk tools and methodologies.
- Review and enhance operational risk assessment for ICAAP
- Track and follow up for completion of tasks relating to ORM tools
Tools and Methodologies
- Propose tools and methodologies to facilitate the process of identifying, measuring, controlling and monitoring operational risk.
- Review and evaluate the adequacy of operational risk tools implemented by the respective functional units.
- Manage the implementation and administration of the ORM tools in the internal ORM system – generation of KRIs, follow-up on RCSAs and CSAs.
Consultative and Advisory Role
- Provide consultative advice on operational risk tools, reporting and system for uniform implementation across the Group.
- Function as the contact point for all issues / queries pertaining to operational risk tools, reporting and system.
- Provide consultative advice on operational risk capital charge treatment.
Frameworks and Policies
- Establish and review frameworks, policies and procedures on operational risk management for consistent and synergetic implementation across the Group.
Risk Awareness and Training
- Provide risk awareness training on operational risk to raise awareness and understanding of operational risks.
Risk Management Projects and Initiatives
- Assist Head, Group Operational Risk and GCRO to plan and implement various strategic and risk management initiatives / projects to strengthen the Group's risk management capabilities.
- Provide cross-functional support to colleagues within Group Risk Management, as required to ensure the success of the Group's risk management initiatives.

Education / Knowledge
- Knowledge of banking operations and operational risk management.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations including Basel/ IFSB governing banking operations and operational risk management.
- Awareness of best practices and minimum standards.
- Awareness of market developments specifically on operational risk management
Experience
- Tertiary Graduate or Qualified Professional with at least 3-5 years’ experience in banking and financial industry, with exposure to risk management/ banking operations and business/ internal audit/ compliance
