We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our Islamic Business & Government Coverage department under our Alliance Islamic Bank (AIS) entity as the Vice President, Islamic Business Coverage.

 

The Role

 

A successful candidate in this position will be responsible to drive AIS’ financing & investment growth strategy by identifying and developing targeted channel strategies/ opportunities across retail, non-retail and government segments. The role focuses on expanding financing access through strategic partnerships, ecosystem linkages, and omni-channel development to support AIS’ overall business objectives

 

Job Description

 

Overall

  • Managing AIS’ business strategies and Islamic affinity business development activities

 

Islamic Business Strategy and Performance Management

  • Lead the creation and implementation of AIS’ business strategies, and manage AIS’ business development team and ABMB sales channels to ensure attainment of profitability and asset growth targets.
  • Consistent engagement with internal parties, includes all internal service providers; AIS own market coverage team, as well as relevant external partners/clients.
  • Engage in relevant performance management forums and discussions so as to be fully apprised of AIS’ most recent business performance status and portfolio health e.g. Production Meeting, Portfolio Review Committee, Group Management Credit Committee (where necessary).

 

Islamic Sector Business Development and Strategic Partnerships

  • Carrying and implementing approved AIS’ strategies and initiatives that involves SME, Commercial and Corporate sectors in furtherance of AIS’ business goals and strategies.
  • Identify, develop, define, negotiate and acquire business opportunities in the SME, Commercial and Corporate sectors, including but not limited to setting-up specific business or product programs specific to this sector
  • Establish and manage a network of key relationships that can provide intelligence on key developments in this sector and open up opportunities for new business acquisitions
  • Explore, define, establish and manage strategic alliances that will support AIS’ business goals and strategies.

 

Stakeholder and Service Level Management

  • Foster positive and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; including, but not limited to, SME, Commercial and Corporate Team

 

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Adhere the entire requirement at all time

 

Others

  • Carry out line management and staff development responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations
  • Proactively participate in the development and improvement of the Bank’s enterprise value, brand value and positive employee engagement
  • Effectively carry out other responsibilities as required by the role, to the best benefit and interest of AIS as well as the larger Alliance Financial Group.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

Skills

  • Continue engaging the relevant SME, Commercial and Corporate banking team. Organising New To Bank (NTB) customers events, physically and virtually via webinars. Gathered as many quality leads as possible for new opportunities.
  • Provide recommendation and suggestion to product team on new product development, improvement, creativity and making sure seamless in term of operational and customer experience.

 

Knowledge

  • Vast knowledge on Halal segment development and business environment including Corporate and Consumer business for better understanding of market challenges, opportunities identification, suitable solutions recommendation/development and NTB development.
  • Good credit knowledge, commercial acumen and liquidity management in supporting the Line of Business nationwide in developing the new to bank customer (NTB) business from assets and liabilities section. Support the business unit in negotiating with risk for credit approvals, Syariah and legal related with the respective departments. Responsible to grow Islamic assets book while making sure the assets quality and sustainability of the business

 

Experience

  • At least 6 years in business development roles within the SME, Commercial and Corporate; and Sales Development with reputable organisation(s).
